Get started
Set up Pūnaha for the first time
Prepare the databases and create the first System Owner.
Before you begin
Install a new Primary and open its setup address. Prepare MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server according to the selected package's acceptance evidence.
Have the three logical database locations ready. Choose local sign in with an authenticator or your organisation's OpenID Connect provider for the first System Owner.
Complete the setup
- Start one temporary setup session in a single browser.
- Choose one database provider and prepare separate Control, Workflow, and AI databases.
- Test the runtime and migration accounts for all three databases.
- Choose and verify the first System Owner.
- Finish setup and follow the restart instruction shown.
- Sign in and open Registration & licence.
Database choice
The provider becomes fixed when database setup is committed. Additional Nodes inherit it. Read Choose and prepare the databases before confirming any automatic provisioning replacement.
Verify the System Owner
A local owner needs a password of at least 12 characters and an authenticator app. Complete the current code check and save recovery codes privately.
For organisation sign in, register the exact callback displayed for the public setup address. Complete sign in as the identity that should own the installation.
Check the result
First setup should no longer be available. The verified owner should be able to sign in. The 720 powered on hour initial registration allowance now applies.
If setup cannot finish
Continue in the browser that owns the setup session. If recovery is needed, use punaha setup-code --valid-for=15m on the server and follow the displayed instructions.
Check failed database tests, authenticator time, or the exact OIDC callback before retrying. Starting setup alone does not create an administrator.
