Exercise: Design a case type draft
Create a small case type draft and check its information, stage, and work without publishing it.
What you will learn
You will create a case type draft with one information field, one stage, and one work item.
Local practice only. Use a test tenant with made up information. Do not use customer information or a production installation.
Before you start
Use a test tenant. You need access to manage case types.
Practice the draft
- Open Cases, then open Case types.
- Choose Create case type.
- Name it Practice equipment request.
- Use
practice-equipment-requestas its address. - Add a text field named Requested item.
- Add a stage named Review.
- Add a human task named Check request to that stage.
- Save the draft.
Practice the check
- Run the built in check.
- Read each error or warning.
- Fix any missing required setting.
- Check the field, stage, and task again.
Check your result
The draft should contain the Requested item field, Review stage, and Check request task. The built in check should not show an unresolved error.
Clean up
Do not publish this case type. Delete the Practice equipment request draft when you finish.
